Every single thing you can use a firearm for is also the rage on airsoft guns. This is what makes the sport so popular. Heckler & Koch makes guns used by special forces around the world and some of the most reliable firearms in the world; airsoft replicas live up to the reputation and that is why they are remarkably common. Many countries prohibit their citizens from owning real guns, such as Japan and England, to name just two. As a result, airsoft guns, with their close resemblance to real steel guns, are the most likely for people in these countries to own a real gun. Just a bit of history, airsoft was invented before paintball in the 1980s. The first guns, like the taurus 9mm, were powered by a cylinder of compressed air connected to the gun with a hose.
Low-Velocity Non-Lethal Guns

This is accomplished by using a fairly moderate 6mm or 8mm plastic pellet (0.12 to 0.45 grams) and fired at a low velocity of 170 to 550 fps (feet per second). In Japan, the fps limit is 300fps using a 0.20-gram pellet for multiple firearms. Kids, young and old, have always wanted to play soldier, and these guns allow them to do so with the perfect protective gear.
Safety Concerns
There are safety issues that parents need to keep in mind. Kids should play in full clothing, long-sleeved shirts, pants, and gloves. BBs only leave a red stain through clothing, but on the skin, they can cause blood flow, even when shot at close range with a massive rapid-fire rifle. This is 1 reason why airsoft ranges in the United States and around the world have a minimum engagement space of 10 to 20 feet, and another gun that shoots 20-gram pellets at over 400 fps must observe a minimum engagement distance of 100 feet. However, this is why I don’t let my kids play on the lawn unless they are supervised by an adult.
This is the main reason why all indoor and outdoor areas require full sealants created for paintball or airsoft. Even if your child is just aiming, he and everyone else in the area should at least have shooting glasses. This is because plastic pellets bounce off hard objects, wood, stone, etc. with minimal speed. The danger to your eyes cannot be overstated, and your child must understand this before firing an airsoft gun.
Laws

Before you buy an airsoft gun, you need to learn exactly what the laws are around the planet, your state, and for people outside the United States, your state. For example, in Massachusetts, it is illegal for anyone except the child’s parents to offer an airsoft gun: Grandparents, aunts, or uncles go to jail if they buy one and give it to a child. In most cities, it is illegal to shoot any airsoft gun with a BB gun, so shooting in the backyard is illegal.
